Toronto PWA Friends For Life Bike Rally 2023: Feels On Wheels

The past 12 months have been quite the rollercoaster. When life happens, sometimes Life Happens. There's been ups and downs, good and bad, memorable and forgettable days, events, realities. And as every year rolls by, we'd like to think and hope that there might just be a day where we wouldn't need to be out there in the world, on the streets, in our communities, having to still confront decades-long illnesses. This is 2023 - we were supposed to have harnessed Science to its fullest.  

But here we are; this is our Reality.

From August 6-11, 2023, the 25th Annual Toronto PWA Friends For Life Bike Rally in support of people living with HIV/AIDS will hit the road, with participants riding from Toronto to Montreal. 

As we’ve done since 2014, we’ve created a Special Edition Yarn Colourway to raise funds for the Rally, and to support the work Toronto PWA does to support the health and well being of people living with HIV/AIDS.

May we present 2023’s colour: Feels On Wheels
Feels on Wheels is a saturated violet with navy and orchid undertones. A tonal semi-solid with depth and dimension that will make the most beautiful and calming sweaters, shawls, socks and more. As with many of our semi-solids, this colour shifts and changes in different lights, making it magic to work with and to wear.

Since this year’s ride is ending August 11, sales will remain open until the end date of the ride. 25% of the proceeds from each skein of Bike Rally yarn will be donated to the 2023 members of Team Knit: Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, Ken Allen, Cam McLean, and first time rider, Kate Norris.

To start, we’ll be offering Feels On Wheels in two bases: CaribouBaa Sock & DK Matter. We may change or add more yarn bases as the promotion goes on, but we’re starting with these two. Pre-orders are now up on the website, with orders shipping approx. 4-6 weeks from ordering.

We'd love to break our record for fundraising for Team Knit this year, and we'll provide updates as we go along with the donation amounts. You can also visit the Bike Rally main page for extra details and information on the Ride and its mandate.
