Tomorrow We Frolic!

Well this is it. Tomorrow is the Toronto Knitters Frolic.

We’ve told you about the yarn and new colours. We’ve told you all about this year’s Frolic colourway, Dminions Unhingj’dWhat else will you find in booth 29?

We have some brand new things from Bookhou and some fun new tools from Succaplokki.

We have a ton of CustomFit samples and sweater recipes. We expect A-line shaping capabilities to be released later today, so come and try on Snáthaid to see what the difference between Hourglass and A-line looks and feels like.

We’ll have Pulley Kits in CaribouBaa and Chameleon! These include yarn, CF recipe and CF pattern codes…everything you need for your sweater.

This means that we will also have Gobstopper Yarn (both the person and her amazing colour changing yarn) in our booth as well.

Bristol Ivy has designed a new scarf/shawl in our yarn that plays with straight stripes and striped chevrons in Chameleon Sock. Occam comes in 3 widths. Small and medium use 1 skein each of 2 colours; large uses 2 skeins each of 2 colours.

We’ll also have copies of some of our favourite Bristol patterns and yarn choices to recommend for them. Winterlong would be a great warm weather accessory in Chaingeling, and cozy in Chameleon Sock doubled. Hesperus is a dream in DK Matter. And Newsom in DK Matter would be fantastic.

Count with me: two TWO more sleeps till Frolic!

Last year we started a tradition with a special Frolic colourway. This year we continue…

Last we created a “cool” colour. This year? HOT!

We make fire!

Meet Dminions Unhingj’d. (like Django Unchained but with less Tarentino). Fiery colours dyed in 3″-5″ repeats. Making this ideal for Optical Delusion: Conflagration.  Combine it with a dark contrast, and Lemon Difficult would also be incredible!

We’ll have it available for sale for one day only, in booth 29 at the Frolic and on our website on Saturday April 30 ONLY, from 8:30 am to midnight Eastern. (No yarn will appear at that link until 8:30 am on Saturday. You can keep clicking. Yes you. But there will still be zero yarns at that link until the appointed time)

So what bases, you ask?  Wingenhooven, Socktobaa, Cariboubaa and Chameleon (pictured below):

Pretty, right?

Then as we were dyeing these, I had an idea. What would happen if we shifted some of the colours from pot to pot.

This, my friends, is a variegated gradient:

We call this the “Scorched Earth” edition.

Four coordinating mini skeins that gradually shift the colours from light to dark. Change the order you knit them in, and change the effect they create:

Can you imagine an Optical Delusion or a Lemon Difficult with colour shifting through from light to dark? Amazing!

This idea is so new and fresh, we’ve only had time to knit a small sample to show you what it does, knit from the lightest (tip of first flame) to the darkest (top):

These sets will be labeled “Scorched Earth Edition” and will also be for sale ONLY on Saturday April 30 in our booth at the Knitters Frolic, and on our website.

3 More Sleeps!

Only 3 more sleeps to the Toronto Knitters Frolic!  Are you coming? Indigodragonfly will be filling booth 29 to overflowing with fluffiness.

We’ll be introducing 2 new bases:

Socktobaa is the sock weight equivalent of Octobaa: 8 plies, with a unique texture and a blend of superwash merino and nylon, so your socks will last and last.

DK Matter is our new DK weight superwash merino. You will not believe how springy and bouncy the fabric is!

And of course, we’ll have new colours.  Want to see some?

Of course you want to know names, right?

The Burt Locker

The Iocaine Mutany

Redacted, the Censored Dinosaur

Eek…a R.O.U.S.!

You’ll just have to come to see which name goes with which colour… 😉

And yes, there will be a special Frolic colourway, available in our booth and online ONLY on Saturday. Want to see it? Tune in tomorrow…
